Heirloom seed handed down to an Oregon woman from several generations of her family, along with the story that it came from a Russian immigrant. Large, juicy pinkish-red heart-shaped tomatoes consistently weigh 1 lb. or just under. Flavor is superb. Small foliage and wispy vines are typical of oxheart-type tomatoes, but this one is distinctive for its size, earliness, and juicy outstanding taste. Indeterminate. 70 days.

Prized by chefs and gardeners alike for its creamy, mild flesh and lovely appearance, this is an Italian heirloom eggplant. Round-to-teardrop-shaped fruit is white with soft lavender streaks outside, and inside flesh is white and sweet with no trace of bitterness. 75 days.

'World's smallest tomato variety,' developed by Drs., J.W. Scott and B.K. Harbaugh at the University of Florida. Grows 5 to 8 inches tall in a 4 inch pot bearing flavorful miniature tomatoes about the size of salad croutons. Plants are truly diminutive and wonderful for patios, windowsills or garden borders. Cayenne Sweetness looks hot and you will be tempted to think it is even after harvest, but it has neither heat or pungency, only the sweet taste of the true flavor of a cayenne. Bright 5 inch pods can be eaten fresh, or mixed in a salad. Cut them up and add to an omelet, or saute them with onions or shallots for a special side dish. 75 days.

The origin of this tomato is believed to be from Dr. Harold Martin, who was a hobby gardener and a dentist. He did not release the tomato in the 1920s when it was first selected, but it was released later by a person who inherited Dr. Martin’s collection. Initially there were some concerns about the variability of the variety, and it has taken time for people to judge the plant. It is indeterminate and purple-maroon in color, weighing 5 to 8 ounces. It has a sweet fruity flavor. The current selection from the collection is a regular leaf type. 85 days.

This compact plant becomes loaded with long trusses of perfectly round, smooth beautiful clear pink tomatoes. The flavor is very good, sweet yet tangy, making this a wonderful addition to an early harvest. Heirloom variety of Russian origin. Determinate. 58 days.

This variety offers resistance to Tomato Yellow Leaf Curl Virus and the same disease-resistance package as Charger Hybrid, but with a stronger plant and even better fruit quality. Compact plants perform well even in hot weather, putting on heavy sets of deep-red, firm, round tomatoes that are an extra-large 10 to 14 oz. size. Fiery hot, wrinkled yellow peppers are related to habanero, and are at least as hot if not hotter. The searing heat has an excellent, citrus-like flavor that can be appreciated in the seconds before the heat sets in. Originally from Africa, these plants become 3 to 4 feet tall, maturing abundant crops of fruit earlier than plants of habanero. Peppers are 2 to 3 inches long with a wide top that tapers down to a point, and are shriveled all over. 80 days.

This variety is well named for its huge 2 lb. beefsteaks that are deep golden with red streaking. The coloration is distinctive from other bicolored tomatoes in that this variety is almost orange with more extensive red streaking, making for a very colorful fruit. High sugar and high acid provide excellent flavor. Heirloom variety from the 1800's. Indeterminate. 85 days.
