Rowdy Red Tomato

The story of Rowdy Red tomato goes back to a man named Archie Millett, who worked for the University of California. Archie tried to create the best tasting tomato imaginable and made crosses for many years before his ultimate tomato was ready to share with his close friends. As the story goes, he handed the unnamed seed to Gary Ibsen (Tomato Fest founder). Gary named it Clint Eastwood's Rowdy Red, in keeping with Clint’s character from Rawhide (TV series), called Rowdy Yates. Rowdy Red produces an abundance of 5 to 10 ounce fruit, that have a particularly delicious taste and firm, juicy fruit. Perfect for sandwiches, salads, canning or cooking. Indeterminate. 78 days.
